COVID-19 Ashram Yoga Community Update
September 7, 2020
The Ashram Yoga Community,
The safety and well-being of all students, teachers and owners is always our top priority.
On March 16th, The Ashram Yoga temporarily closed our doors to help keep our communities safe.
We are so grateful to those who have continued their memberships or have purchased more classes to help support our studio and all of their teachers and staff during this time of uncertainty.
Our community is not defined by our studio walls. While you may not be able to practice at your home studio, we would love to introduce you to Ashram Yoga Online in the meantime. We want to help everyone, whether you are a Ashram Yoga student or not, practice yoga at home.
Practice Now. Practice Peace. Practice Anywhere.
If You Are An Auto-Renew Member: You have FREE access to Ashram Yoga Online while studio doors are closed. Auto-Renewing Members can also access our Live to Learn Live Series for FREE – ongoing workshops led by Gary Olson at Invictus Fitness will be by drop-in only. Class packages do not apply.
Who Is The Ashram Yoga Online For? Ashram Yoga is a place for all. Ashram Yoga Online was created for you, the Ashram community, and anyone else who could benefit from accessible yoga during these challenging times.
How Else Can You Support Our Community? Big thanks to everyone who has reached out to ask how you can continue to support The Ashram Yoga studio. We have been moved to tears by your generosity and concern. Please share The Ashram Yoga Online with everyone you know! Our focus is to bring health and peace to as many people as possible.
Increasing how often the studio areas and restrooms are being cleaned. This includes wiping down all surfaces, door handles, lockers, light switches, etc. with an effective cleaner. Ensuring that mats and blocks are disinfected daily after every class. Stocking up on disinfecting products and making them readily available to students and teachers.
Replacing hand towels with recycled paper towels. Studios use hand towels because they are more environmentally friendly, but while the coronavirus is a concern, we will be replacing these towels temporarily with recycled paper towels.
No hands on adjustments during this time.
Students are encouraged to bring their own mat. If using a rental mat, they are encouraged to use a towel on top. Some studios are choosing to remove all mats and towels from circulation.
No borrowed bottles or jars during this time. No shared tea or use of studio tea mugs during this time.
During this time, studios are also asking students to:
Stay home if you are unwell and to speak to your primary care provider if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19
Thoroughly wash your hands upon arriving at the studio, before class, and after class – especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
Use the hand sanitizer provided around the studio, though you should still opt to wash your hands whenever possible.
As much as possible, avoid touching your mouth, nose and eyes.
If you find yourself sneezing or coughing, please use a tissue or your elbow. Please then wash your hands.
As we navigate this moment together, we want to thank you all for doing your part to help keep our Ashram communities safe. By working together and staying informed, we can all work toward supporting our first Pillar – Be Healthy.
The experts warn that adding a number or symbol to a common word is also an ineffective trick.‘Hackers know your tricks, and merely tweaking an easily guessable password does not make it secure,’ said Slain.
With love and gratitude
