American Idol

南京首发租房风险提示 警惕“黑中介”“零佣金”等五大陷阱

Jackie Tohn started the night off and she sang A Little Less Conversation by Elvis.  She looked like she stole her outfit from a Disneyland theme park entertainer.  She definitely knows how to work a song.  In fact, she had Paula up out of her seat and rockin’ out.  Randy said she’s a great entertainer, but isn’t sure about her vocals. Kara said she knows how to work a stage, and she showed us who she is. Paula told her that she makes everyone fall in love with her (except me), while Simon said she played the clown and that the public probably won’t like it very much.

Next up is Ricky Braddy.  Who the hell is Rick Braddy?  We never really got a chance to see Ricky but Ryan told us that he was serving chicken fingers just a short time ago. Was he working at Hooters in drag?  Ricky sang A Song for You by Leon Russell and he was pretty impressive.  He has a very soulful voice.  Randy liked him and said he was unbelievable and that was the way to start off the night. Kara said he killed it with awesome rifts and fine interpretation. Paula was really happy he finally got a chance to show America who he is.  Simon liked it too but said he doesn’t have any star quality.  I must agree with Simon as I thought he was really good but I wouldn’t buy his CD.

Alexis Grace
I love this girl and her spiky pink hair. She’s so little, yet has such a big voice! She’s tackling Aretha Franklin’s “Never Loved a Man,” and looks fantastic doing it! I think she’s a bit nervous in the beginning and holding back a bit. But, once she warms up, you can tell the camera loves her and she’s got the pipes to make it through. But will America embrace this song choice? Randy says she’s found the “dirty” she needed, and she worked it out. Kara says the genie is out of the bottle, and she loves the new Alexis. Paula loves that she showed so much soul and passion even though she’s in a tiny package. Simon thinks she’s the best so far tonight, and she does, indeed, have soul. He even says she’s the dark horse of this competition.

Brent Keith
Poor Brent’s tape doesn’t play right away and there’s an awkward minute where Ryan tries to cover. Now that the tape is playing, we see Brent is the guy who had to deal with Paula and Kara going under the table at his audition. That enough should get him a free pass. Brent sings “Hicktown” by Jason Aldean, but I can see right away that he is as stiff as a board. He loosens up a little with his vocals, but he just seems too wooden to make a great impression. Randy says he likes that he went back to his country music roots and that he has an old-school, country swagger. Kara says he was a little safe tonight and wants him to take more risks, and Paula sees him as a great country artist. Simon thinks he was forgettable, but Brent defends himself, and I love him for it.

Stevie Wright
I still can’t believe that Stevie is only 17! She seems so much older than that, but from her audition tapes, we can see that the judges want her to act young and bubbly. So, she’s singing Taylor Swift’s “You Belong to Me,” and almost instantly, I can tell this is absolutely the wrong song for her. Her voice is so much better than this song can show! Oh, the judges are gonna rip her apart. (Tear!) Randy says it’s not hot for him, and she’s a better singer than this song showed. Kara agrees and says she has an identity crisis going on, while Paula says it was not the right song. Simon just says straight up that it was a terrible performance.

Anoop Desai
‘Noop Dog is in the house! He’s taking it down a notch tonight (after his awesome version of “My Prerogative” in Hollywood) and sings “Angel of Mine” by Monica. Man, can this dude work it. He doesn’t hit every note perfectly, but who cares? He’s adorable. And, even though he’s not the smoothest guy out there, I feel like the camera does love him… and so will many 13-year-old girls. Randy says it is an interesting song for him, which translates into: not a great choice. Kara says he has great potential and is connected to his songs. Paula says America already loves Anoop and that even if the song was sharp, she thinks he’ll be around for a while. Simon thinks his song choice was too grown up, but admits he has massive likability on his side.

Casey Carlson
Casey is stylish, appealing and beautiful before she even opens her mouth… so why, oh why would she pick “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by The Police? She’s making weird faces that I think she thinks are sexy and fun… but it’s just uncomfortable to watch. She’s completely stiff and I feel like this is a botched beauty pageant number. Sorry to say this, but I think it’s buh-bye for you, cutie. Randy said it was the wrong song and weirdly karaoke. Kara wanted her to do something young and fun, but this was really flat. Paula says she had weird phrasing and didn’t think about what she was singing. Simon says it was atrocious and doesn’t tell anyone what kind of artist she wants to be.

Michael Sarver
Mr. Roughneck gives me hope by picking “I Don’t Want to Be” by Gavin DeGraw. Why? Because that’s exactly the kind of song he should be singing! I love this guy too. He’s got such a natural confidence and doesn’t come off as obnoxious. Plus, he looks like he’s having fun! Randy says he can definitely can sing but his pitch was off, while Kara says he can do better. Paula disagrees and says that he showed a different side of himself, and Simon thinks if he gets through, it’s going to be because people like him. Simon throws him a bone by saying he hopes America does pick up the phone and give him another chance. Though I think Simon is a jerk, he’s kind of right here. Darn it.

Ann Marie Boskovich
You remember her as the girl Simon told to leave the audition room and pretty herself up. Well, those weren’t his exact words, but you get my drift? She sings “Natural Woman,” which is a huge risk as well. Ann Marie looks fantastic tonight, but this song is way too big for her. She also reminds me of a beauty pageant contestant. Randy says that this song was not the right choice. Kara says that she should have killed it, and she should sing something more like “Love Song” by Sara Bareilles. Paula says she thought Ann Marie did better than her other auditions and was smart to take a risk. Simon says her voice is not good enough for that song, and that she may have blown her one shot.

Stephen Fowler
Let’s hope he doesn’t have a keyboard-slammin’ meltdown, because I love this guy. He sings, “Rock with You” by Michael Jackson, which feels risky to me… And I was right. He has such a great voice, but this song is all wrong. Why don’t they help these guys more with song choice? Just say no! Randy is baffled by his song choice and says he was all over the place. Kara says she got more from him during the song when he forgot his lyrics, because they at least felt he was connected to it. Paula says singing this song is the kiss of death because it only belongs to Michael Jackson. Simon says he wishes Stephen had forgotten the lyrics because it was such a pointless performance.

Tatiana Del Toro
Sigh. I hate feeling this biased toward someone, but how can I help it? The producers have shoved this girl and her drama down our throats since day one. How are we supposed to take her seriously? And why does she seem obsessed with Whitney Houston songs? Anyone who has seen this show knows they warn contestants to stay away from the Whit. But Tata sings “Saving All My Love” and it’s actually not as hideous as I thought it would be. But, her look at the end is enough to make me want to toss her ass out on the sidewalk. Randy says he was worried about her song choice but she did impress him in a few spots. Kara wonders where she fits in the industry, while Simon out-and-out calls her a drama queen. The judges are actually baiting her to be crazy again and I want to smack them all. Enough!

Did they save the best for last? Danny tackles a big ol’ song, and I’m not sure how the judges will take it. He sings “Hero” by Mariah Carey and starts with his hand extended to the audience, which is a big singer pet peeve of mine. Danny can sing and sings with soul, but this song is boring and doesn’t show off his strengths at all. Why are Paula and Kara freaking out so much about his performance? I rewound it and listened again to see if I missed something, and I don’t think I did. He’s way better than many of the others tonight, but they act like he’s a freakin’ rock star. Randy says that Danny was blazin’ hot, and that he’s the redeemer of the night. Kara says he’s the hero of the night and gives them all hope. Paula says he’ll have sold-out arenas, while Simon tries to bring them all back down to Earth by saying it was just a good performance. Thank you, Simon!

Jasmine Murray sang Love Song by Sara Bareilles and she started off  sounding really shaky.  The stunning 16 year old never seemed to find her rhythm throughout the performance and she struggled to stay in tune.   Randy said he was pitchy.   Kara said she was all over the place.  Paula agreed with Randy and Kara.  Simon said he was disappointed because he likes her a lot.  I was disappointed too as I think she has the total package with looks and talent.

Matt Giraud sang Viva La Vida by Coldplay to unimpressed judges and fans.  Kara said that it was the wrong song for him since it didn’t show off his style.  Oh, sorry did he have a style?  Paula said it was a risky song choice for a soulful singer and she hopes he is here next week.  I am thinking we know the answer is that he is finished!  Simon said it verged on a “horrible” performance since he turned from a cool person into a wannabe pop star.  Randy said he’s got mad talent but he should have picked another song.

Jeanine Vailes picked This Love by Maroon 5 and I was really shocked by her song selection as it was truly awful.  Jeanine tried to make the song her own and, at times, it worked but when it didn’t, it was a real mess.  I must admit that I liked the outfit.  Paula refused to even comment beyond saying that Jeanine had nice legs.  Simon agreed that she had killer legs but he said it was awful.  Rndy said that the best part was when it was over.  Kara said it was “so overdone.”

Nick Mitchell (a.k.a. Norman Gentle) once again sang And I Am Telling You from Dream Girls.  However, this time Nick  sang it with revised lyrics.  He went full out Norman Gentle during this presentation and it was really entertaining.  Simon said that he prays that Nick will not make it through to the next round.  Randy said it was one of the most entertaining performances ever on AI.  Kara said that at least we remember him!  Yes, we sure will but will it be enough?  Paula said that singers come in different shapes and sounds and that Nick/Norman is a true performer.

Allison Iraheta sang Alone from Heart and I thought she did a pretty good job.  She really wasn’t featured as often as others during the audition rounds but I think she may have done enough to make it through.  Randy said that she “blew it out the box.”  Kara said that Allison doesn’t even know how good she is and that she has serious charts.  Paula said that Allison could sing the telephone book.  Do you happened to know what page?  Simon said that she was the best tonight “by a clear mile.”

市场对通缩局面担忧严重 消息称3月份降息临近

Kris Allen sang Man In the Mirror by Michael Jackson and I thought that he started off pretty poorly.  He sounded flat in many places.  I am not sure why he picked this song.  Kara said the performance didn’t come close to what they saw from him Hollywood.  Paula disagreed with Kara completely and said that Kris nailed his performance.  Who do you trust on this one?  Simon agreed with… Paula!  Wow, can you believe that?  Randy said he did a good job too.

众多购房者陷“全款优先买房”陷阱 开发商“甩锅”销售人员

Megan Joy Corkrey sang Put Your Records Onby Corinne Bailey Rae and she was pretty good.  personally, I liked her unique sound and her movements.  Paula said that Megan picked the right song and that she’s beautiful, interesting and relevant.  I would agree!  Simon said that Megan is a “funny little thing” and that she over-sang the second half of the song a little bit.  Randy agreed with Simon and Paula.  Kara said that Megan is a “package artist” and that, with the right song, she could be a break-out artist.  It’s all about marketing.

Matt Breitzke sang If You Could Only Seeby Tonic and I thought he had did a pretty good job.  However, it wasn’t the most exciting song choice ever.  Simon said that he really hated that song and that the performance was uncomfortable.  Randy said it was a great song but that the performance was too boring.  Kara said that it didn’t show any side of Matt as an artist.  Paula said that every note was in key but the song didn’t celebrate who Matt is.  Has anyone seen Matt?  Calling Matt Breitzke, anybody there?!

Jesse Langseth sang Bette Davis Eyesby Kim Carnes and she was pretty good but nothing too earth shattering.  Randy thought it was “okay” but wasn’t exciting.  Kara said it was her best look and that she took some risks.  Paula said that Jesse is captivating and identifiable.  Simon disagreed with Paula and said that he thinks Jesse is forgettable.  Jesse who?

Kai Kalama sang What Becomes of the Broken Heartedby Jimmy Ruffin and I thought he did a pretty good job.  Although he really didn’t bring anything new to this golden oldie.  Kara said that Kai had some pitch issues and that the song was a little old-fashioned for him.  Paula said that he is quite the performer.  Simon said it was corny and sounded like something you’d hear at a wedding or a hotel.  What weddings does he attend?  Randy said it was a very safe performance and not really what he was looking for from Kai.  So, what was he expecting?

Mishavonna Henson sang Drops of Jupiterby Train and it was truly disappointing.  She actually has a pretty good voice but this was not the right song choice.  Paula said that she wouldn’t have picked that song for Mishavonna.  Why didn’t you tell her that earlier?   Simon said that she is a quite a good singer but was left cold by her performance.  Randy agreed that Mishavonna was too serious for her age.  Settle down now, Mishavonna!  Kara said that she didn’t mind the song choice but that Mishavonna needs to loosen up a bit.

Adam Lambert sang Satisfactionby the Rolling Stones and he made it more contemporary.  I thought he did a good job but it still was a little cheesy and sort of over-the-top.  Paula said that it felt like she was watching an Adam Lambert concert and that he’s in a league of his own.  Simon said parts of the performance were brilliant and others were really bad.  So, essentially the good, the bad, and the Simon.  Randy said that he loved it and compared him to Fall Out Boy and Robert Pattinson.  Kara said that his vocal range is incredible.  He better continue to evolve as if he continues doing the same thing he will get old quick.

American Idol

一线市场渐饱和 家居建材市场转向二三线市场

Adeola Adegoke (a.k.a. Addy), a 19 year old former bank teller from Bronx, NY, quit her job to audition for AI. She sang And I am Telling You by Jennifer Hudson and in a word it was terrible. All four judges turned her down immediately. Simon asked, “if she actually delivered the resignation letter and that she may need to retrack it based on that performance as it was shockingly bad.”  Kara said, “you have to keep your day job.”  When she leaves the room she announces, “It’s not me, but I am not giving up!” Ryan gets Addy’s boss on the phone, and Simon helps her get her job back. Let’s recap. Singing is a NO! Working is a YES!

Jorge Nunez, a 20 year old college student from Carolina, Puerto Rico, sang My Way by Olio.  He has a very powerful Spanish voice.   Paula asked “how do you sing in English.”  So, he sang What a Wonderful World.  Randy said it was “brilliant,” and Simon was happy with his accent! The judges loved him, and he’s going to Hollywood.

Jessika Baier, a 20 year old waitress at a 50’s style cafe, is a plus-sized girl from Michigan. She financed her trip to NYC by participating in 700 contests and winning a lot of them. She’s like a professional contest winner.  She is so full of herself its enough to make you sick.  She sang I Surrender by Celine Dion. Her voice isn’t terrible but its really abrasive and not very good. Simon said, “it was absolutely awful.” Randy said, “the sound of the voice is not on point, it is not good.”  After she got shot down, she got really defensive and started going crazy. She was devastated. Honey, it’s a NO!

Melinda Camille, a 21 year old from Stratford, CT, has a shaved head.  She, wants to send a message to the world. She said, “I want to uplift humanity to a place of love and positivity.”  Did I mention that she also loves to dance naked.  Simon told her to “picture Randy naked.”  She sang Feeling Good.  She was surprisingly quite good.  A pure voice, confident, actually likable.  Kara said, “she’s like a vitamin boost.”  She got four yeses and she’s going to Hollywood, baby!

Jackie Tohn, a 27 year old actor/singer, has been performing for 10 years.  She sang I’m Yours by Jason Mraz.   Simon stops her and asks her to sing another song in “her normal singing voice.”  She belts out a sweet sounding song. The first three judges say yes. When Simon starts to speak, a piece of the window falls. So, was that a bad sign? Actually it wasn’t.  She got four yeses and out she went.  Rock you in Hollywood!

Back from the break we saw some dreadful performances.  First up Kate Cassidy, a 27 year old marketing coordinator, sang It’s Raining Men by The Weather Girls.  Followed by Carlos Santos, a 21 year old college student, sang Livin’ la Vida Loca by Ricky Martin and it was for sure crazy.  Then Antyon Smith, a 24 year old dance instructor, sang Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder and it was not a language that we understood.  Jasmine James, a 24 year old law student performed a tap dance routine and didn’t say or sing anything (sounds like my next AI).  Last up, Mike Perlman, a 25 year old actor/writer, played air guitar using a 1980’s boom box to Europe’s The Final Countdown.

Joel Contreras, a 23 year old street performer, is a self-proclaimed “Crazy Rocker.” Joel showed up as a gigantic cardboard iPod or as he said “guy-pod.”  Simon said it’s “everything I hate.” All four judges tell him NO. He pulls out a lion puppet out of his pants and places it on his hand.  Simon asked “what revelavance do you have standing there with a lion on your hand in a singing competition?”  Joel responded by singing the Circle of Life.  Sorry its four NOs.  He get so excited by getting NOs and runs out of the audition.

Nick Mitchell, a 27 year old from Brookfield, CT, auditioned as “Norman Gentle.”  Simon warns him that “he hates comedy.”  Despite the warning, “Mr. Gentle” sang And I Am Telling You from Dream Girls and he started to make his audition funny.  He made a lot of weird faces so Simon stoped him.  All the judges laughed.  They give him the opportunity to sing another song and he selected Amazing Grace.   Paula said, “I love you.”  Kara said, “she was so entertained.”  Randy said, “dude, I was entertained.” All the judges, except for Simon, vote him onto Hollywood.

Ashley Hollister, a 21 year old receptionist at a hair solon, is on her way to Hollywood. Kenny Hoffpauer, a 16 year old high school student, sang I’m Yours by Jason Mraz and he did a good job.  It’s off to Hollywood Kenny.  Kendall Beard, a 23-year-old college student from Austin, Texas, got four yeses from the judges and is off to Califronia.

And – oh, right – ethics. "You're not being fair to your employer if you're using the company's dime to get the heck out of there," Foss says。
与亨特相反,在《钢琴课》中与亨特联合主演的安娜·帕奎因(Anna Paquin),她的小金人似乎居无定所,游荡在她装袜子的抽屉和放靴子的地板之间。

Monique Garcia Torres, a 16 year old high school student, brought her little brother, Christopher, into the audition for moral support. He’s cute but why is he in the audition?  She sang You Can’t Hurry Love by The Supremes. She’s pretty good. She then sings I Turn To You by Christina Aguilera. Simon tells her to sing a song that is within her range. Randy and Kara say NO.  Paula says, “I like you.”  Simon says YES, but  sends her to Hollywood.

Alexis Cohen, a 24 year old college student from Philadelphia, PA, is back from a dreadful audition last year.  She sang Like A Prayer for Madonna. And, again she’s horrible. Actually she is worse than last year.  Simon says “that was actually fairly horrendous.” He says, “I think we have fully established now that you can’t sing.” And, like last year she gave him the middle finger. She calls Simon an “ass” and she leaves.

Patricia Lewis Roman, a 20 year old local singer, is the last contestant of the night. Her parents actually got married at the audition site location. She sang I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston. Simon says, “I didn’t think it was good enough.”  Paula says no. Randy says yes. Kara said yes so she emerged with a golden ticket.

"In ancient times, Kucha was called Qiuci in Chinese literature. It was a powerful city-state in the oasis of the Western Frontiers" the researchers wrote.

Season 8, Episode 6

American Idol

3年合伙骗2000万元 一个棚改项目“放倒”18人

David Osmond, son of Allen Osmond the oldest of the performing Osmonds, is the first audition. He’s a good-looking, clean cut guy with a bit of his own sad story. Despite belonging to a famous family, David’s life isn’t all sunshine.  Like his father, he suffers from the very debilitating disease MS.  He was in a wheelchair six months ago, but now he’s better.  He sang Something Within Me by Take 6. He’s got pretty good control of his voice but the judges had some concerns.  Paula said, “he should have picked a song by a solo artist.”  Simon said, “if you think you are contemporary you are making a big mistake.” Nonetheless, he’s going to Hollywood.

Tara Matthews, a 21 year old bill collector, was a humongous, red hair-dyed goth-dressed young lady.  She believes that she has strong ESP but when asked if she was going to win AI she said, “I have a good feeling but I don’t know.”  She’s a real winner.  She sang One Day I’ll Fly Awayfrom the Moulin Rouge soundtrack.  She was bad, really bad.  Simon said, “the whole thing was horrible from the outfit, to the song choice, and that  she sounded like a baby.”  It’s a NO!

Beijing ranked No 3 on the list of top 10 most congested cites in China, following Jinan and Harbin, according to a report by China Academy of Transportation Sciences.
v. 弄短,变短
China’s forex reserves — the world’s largest — have long been seen as the ultimate guarantor of financial stability, since they can be used to hedge against capital flight or to bail out domestic financial institutions struggling with a rise in bad debts.

Chris Kirkham, a 26 year old telemarketer, showed up with what Ryan described as a “big advantage.”  He showed up with his friend Greg, who wore a pink bunny, a la A Christmas Story.   The bunny was called Grabbit.  He also brought along handsome Simon.  A cut out of Simon’s face placed on a popsicle-like stick.  How stupid was that?  He starts singing, but Simon can’t deal with the bunny in the background.  The judges didn’t like his singing but Randy said “I actually quite like the bunny.”  The bunny finished off the audition by giving Simon a big hug.

Frankie Jordan, a 24 year old from Hollywood, California, is a stay at home mom.  She is very confident in herself.  She sang You Know I’m No Good by Amy Winehouse and she was really good.  All four judges really liked her. Simon said, “I actually quite like you and you’ve got a cute little face.”  Paula said, “she has a very good voice, very definable.”  So, yes Frankie goes to Hollywood!

Megan Corkrey, a young mother and recent divorcee, celebrated her 23rd birthday the day of the audition.  She sang Can’t Help Loving That Man of Mine by Ella Fitzgerald.  Kind of an ironic song choice since she just decided she didn’t love her man any more.  She had a really unique voice and all four judges loved her. Randy said, “very interesting, I kinda like you.”    Paula said, “I really like you, bordering on loving you.”  Simon said, “one of my favorite auditions…I like you, I like your voice.”  Kara said, “you have an incredible face.”  Okay this was beyond good for Megan and she’s off to Hollywood.

Andrew Gibson, a 21 year old college student, thought he had the old school moves and the God given soul to stand out from the crowd.  Did he think wrong?  He sang Oh Let Me Flyby Harry Belafonte.  Simon said, “it’s not going to work.”  Andrew had a soul just not a soulful voice. It’s a big, NO!

Austin Sisneros, a 17 year old high school student, is the senior class president.  He sang two songs.  The first one was When I Look to the Sky by Train.  The judges liked his voice but since he’s young they can definitely hear some weak moments.  Simon said, “we still haven’t joined the fan club yet.”  However, they allow him to do another song.  He sang It takes a Village by Raffi.  Although he selected two poor songs Austin gets through and is off to Hollywood.

Jarrett Burns, a 24 year old college student, auditioned and received a golden ticket.  He sang Put Your Records On by Corinne bailey Rao.

Taylor Vaifanua, a 16 year old from Samoa via Hurricane, Utah, stands at 5’11” without heels and 6’1″ or 6’2″ with heels.  I have two questions.  Is she really 16 years old?  And, would she stand tall based on her voice?  Taylor said that her family moved back from Samoa because they wanted her to be recognized for her talent.  Randy said she reminded him of Jordin Sparks.  She sang Joyful Joyful by Lauryn Hill.   Randy said, “she has the best vocal control they’ve seen this season.”  Kara said, “she saw her in the bathroom practicing a few times and knows that Taylor really wants this.” Welcome to Hollywood.

Rose Flack, 17 year old platinum blonde, has had a tough life.  She lost her father at age 13 and then her mother two years later in a car accident. She lives with her adopted family in Rathdrum, Idaho.  When she walked in Simon said, “she looked fantastic.”  She sang I Feel the Earth Move by Carol King.  The audition was not flawless but the judges liked her and she got four yeses.  Maybe the golden ticket to Hollywood will help swing the karma.

Season 8, Episode 5

American Idol

北京:违规转租公租房将被严惩 恶意违规将来不得申请实物保障房

Joshua Ulloa, a 22 year old tile layer, who said he liked being compared to AI Season 1 runner-up Justin Guarini was up first. He said he liked the comparison because “it helps people to remember you” (Really, now? Well, who remembers Justin Guarini?). He sang Marvin Gay’s Let’s Get It On. Simon didn’t compare Joshua to Justin but to Inspector Gadget because he “had all sorts of things coming out of his head.” Joshua’s singing, however, when not upstaged by his mimicry and/or gimmickry was actually ok. And he made it through, even with a semi-reluctant “yes” from Simon. It’s off to Hollywood

Sharon Wilbur, a 25 year old non-profit administrator, auditioned with her fluffy shitzu, Sasha. She sang Karen Carpenter’s Don’t You Remember You Told Me You Loved Me Baby? But would her voice be a shitzu too? Would her dog be just another distracting gimmick (e.g., a bikini, cheerleaders, or kids)? Sasha actually sat on Simon’s lap during the audition and left him a nice dark surprise. Well, Sharon actually turned out to be a’ight even though her dog was bored and yawned throughout her audition. She got four “yeses” from the judges and is off to Hollywood. Will, Sasha make the trip?

Dana Moreno, a 24 year old college student from West Palm Beach Fl, fought a losing battle with Chaka Khan’s Through the Fire. Needless to say she didn’t make it through. However, Simon provided her with directions out the door by saying, “that’s the direction I want you to take right, then right.”

Kaneswa Finnie, a 16 year old high school student, came into her audition overconfident. She sang Anita Baker’s Caught Up In the Rapture of Love. According to Simon he said he never heard that song sung like that before. He said she got “progressively worse” as her song went on and on and on. And on. Her mom, Paula, who the judges brought into the audition, told her she could sing.  Sometimes mother does not know best. Paula, her mom, has to be tone deaf. She said she was her American Idol. I am glad she is not our 2009 AI. It’s a No!

Julissa Veloz, a 19 year old sales associate, is Miss Florida Latina USA. She wore her crown and sash to her audition. The question is was she also wearing a wig too? She sang I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston. Julissa was actually okay but she has a grating, and rather annoying, stoner laugh. Simon said that she was better than he expected but that she “didn’t make the song sound nice.” After all the stupidity of Paula leaving the judges panel area Julissa finally got through. I hope she loses the laugh in Hollywood.

Darin Darnell, a 28 year old tennis instructor from Houston, TX, said he feels really comfortable around people and loves to work a room. However, once Devin Cates, a friend who he met during the audition, was eliminated from the competition Darin loses it big time. He comes into the audition and announces “he’s kinda sad.” He blubbered, like Randy Madden from the Phoenix audition, and acted like an emotional misfit. What a drama queen! He sang a terrible version of So Hard to Say Goodbye by Boyz II Men. After hearing him it was very easy for me to say goodbye.

Naomi Sykes, a 25 year old food server from Tampa Fl, compared herself to Mariah Carey. Simon called her “a talented looney.” She brought along her BFF Samantha, who just happened to have a massive crush on Randy. Samantha plopped down on Randy’s lap, which in turn inspired Paula to sit on Simon’s lap, and then Ryan Seacrest even sat on Kara’s lap. So, Naomi had six judges. Naomi, who sang Minnie Ripperton’s highly challenging Lovin‘ You, said that “everyone tells me I’m great.” Well, too bad none of those people were in the audition. It was terrible. At least Samantha had her dream come true. For Naomi, it’s a NO.

Jasmine Murray, a 16 year old high school student, sailed through her audition with very little drama — she didn’t need it. She sang Big Girls Don’t Cry by Fergie. Simon said she was “huge, commercial, and a very good singer.” Needless to say she got four yeses and is off to Hollywood. I hope Jasmine goes pretty far.

George Ramirez, 18 year old college physics major, is a beardy intellectual (a.k.a. Unabomber) nerdy type. People please no more beards. George described himself as a “physics freak.” I think “freak” is more like it. He sang Walking on Sunshine by Katrina & The Waves’. He turned this happy little ditty into a sad funeral-like song. Nice work George! Well, he walked out the door without a golden ticket. It’s a NO!

1.Bladeless Fans
The CPI rose by 2 percent.

T.K. Hash, a 23 year old from Concord, North Carolina, was a season 7 reject. He decided to give it another go in Jacksonville. He sang Imagine by John Lennon. Unlike last year, this time around he made the cut. Good for him for not giving up, as this was one repeat auditioner with actual talent. Simon sad no but the other three judges said yes. T.K. is off to Hollywood.

Michael Perrelli, an 18 year old sensitive singer-songwriter musician, has an apparent fondness for Plain White shirts. Once he learned he would be unable to audition while playing his beloved acoustic guitar he just freaked out. Dude get a grip. Sadly, as a result, he flailed and floundered during his attempt at Jumper by Third Eye Blind. Simon said, “you would struggle within the parameters of this competition.” However, Michael actually wasn’t too bad. He like Darin from earlier in the night appeared like an emotional misfit. During his agitated post-audition segment Ryan scolded him for being mean to his well-meaning mother. Michael’s mom tried to comfort him and he barked at her by saying, “Don’t touch me!” It’s a No!

American Idol

Highlights from Louisville, KY

Tiffany Shedd, an 18 year old high school graduate, sang Hero by Mariah Carey.  Before she started Kara asked her why AI and she replied by saying, “I think I have a great voice and that I would be great for the show.”  Tiffany exclaims that she will be positive even if she doesn’t make it. Of course she doesn’t live up to her word.  As she stands in front of the judges, Tiffany explains that she will go to college if she doesn’t make it.  Well,  she squeaked throughout the entire audition.  It was really bad.  In fact, Randy laughed throughout her performance. Once finished Kara tells her “to go to college.’   Simon says, ” the good news is that you are going to college.”  He also says, “imagine 22 horses and a donkey, you just wouldn’t stand a chance.” It’s a definite NO.

Joanna Pacitti, a 23 year old cutie from Philadelphia,  has been trying to get into the music business since she was 16. Once she enters the audition Kara points out that she was from A&M Records. Joanna explains to Simon that it “just didn’t work out.”  She sang We Belong by Pat Benatar and I think she has a great tone to her voice. Kara likes her. In fact, she gets four yeses from the judges.  It’s off to Hollywood for Joanna.

Mark Mudd, a 25 year old, has had “two really really bad car accidents and  almost died 5 times.” Doesn’t sound like lady luck has been on his side.  His great great great great grandfather (Dr. Samuel Mudd) actually repaired John Wilkes Booth’s broken leg after he shot Lincoln and jumped off the balcony. He walks into the audition and surprises Simon with his phone holster (he thinks its a gun). He sang White Lighting by George Jones and it makes Kara and Paula laugh. Paula says that he’s “not bad.” Simon thinks he would be better for Wheel of Fortune. He tells the judges to “be careful” and Simon takes it as a threat.  Mark it’s a NO.

Brent Keith Smith, a 28 year old traveling musician from OH, sang Bad Company’s Can’t Get Enough. He has nice clarity in his voice. Paula is surprised “that he had that in him.”  Simon thought the song was “ridiculous” and that it wasn’t the right song choice. Paula and Kara overreact to Simon’s criticism. Kara tries to explain that he is the type of artist who only needs one great song. Simon then really confuses the girls by voting yes for Brent.  This confusion sends the girls under the table together (watch out this is a family show).  In fact, all four judges vote Brent to Hollywood.

Irene Augueloba, a 28 year old toothbrush company employee, stroke out big time by singing one terrible version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Wil Hueser, a 20 year old online variety show host,  who sang Tainted Love by Soft Cell was equally as disturbing.   Simon said, “is it me or is this show getting weirder this year.”  Sorry Wil it’s a NO.

Falling global demand for personal computers (PC) saw shipments fall by a record 10.6% in the fourth quarter from a year ago, according to market research firm IDC.

The FT European Business School Ranking 2016 measures the quality and breadth of schools’ postgraduate programmes. It is based on their performance in the five main rankings published by the Financial Times each year: MBA, Executive MBA (EMBA), Masters in Management (MiM) and the two rankings for executive education. Only schools that take part in all five are eligible for a full score.

Matt Giraud, 23 year old dueling piano player, just picked up the piano four years ago and wants to continue performing. He sang I Don’t Wanna Be by Gavin DeGraw.  Paula loves the “uniqueness” of his voice. Kara loves him too.  Simon is reminded of Elliot Yamin from season five. Simon doesn’t think he believes in himself.  He gets four yeses and he’s off to Hollywood.

Ross Plavsic, a 26 year old after school tutor, was introduced as a brainy guy (a.k.a. NERD).  He auditioned wearing a dark suit and tie.  He thinks that by studying videos on YouTube and songs it will help him succeed.  However, there’s something holding him back during his audition (e.g. it’s a scratchy throat). He sang Cara Mia by Jay and the Americas.  It was terrible.  Paula suggests something modern.  He makes an excuse of being scratchy and grabs Paula’s water and drinks right from her straw, freaking Paula out.  He sang Love Me Tender and it was terrible too.  The water didn’t help and the judges sent him packing.

Alexis Grace, a 20 year old single mother and musician from Memphis, TN, sang Dr. Feelgood by Aretha Franklin.   She instantly captures the judges’ attention. Randy thought that she had a different voice. Paula likes her too but tells her she needs to develop her “stage presence.” There are four yeses.  See you in Hollywood.

Aaron Williamson, 27 year old photographer, comes in way too pumped up. He’s very energetic and says he wants to be “America’s Next Top Model” (does he know he showed up for American Idol?). He sang or screamed through CCR’s  Have You Ever Seen the Rain.  Ryan walks in totally confused because it was quite loud. Paula feels like it got her aggression out. Aaron is hungry for winning. The judges reject him.

Rebecca Garcia, a 24 year old education masters student, was interviewed by the local news during a morning show before her audition. As she walks in, Paula remembered her from the news. Rebecca has a cheat sheet on her arm. She sang Carrie Underwood’s Before He Cheats. It’s not good at all and she forgot the words too.  Kara thinks she is trying to be funny and calls it a joke. She might have been serious and starts to cry. Kara feels bad for being mean. Simon likes her but she san’t sing.  Rebecca, it’s a no.

Laneshe Young, an 18 year old college student, has struggled her whole life with very little.  She had no support from her father and her family jumped from shelter to shelter. When she got older she stayed at home to help her family. She sang an original song called Nette.  The song has a certain swagger to it. Simon actually thought the song was well written. The judges all agree and Laneshe is off to Hollywood.

Do you tend to hide your feelings from others?

Tatiana Del Toro, who has an annoying Fran Drescher-like laugh, is an arrogant Puerto Rican model, actress, singer,  and just about anything else you could imagine.  She brought the judges her Press Kit (Kara said we never got this type of gift before).  Tatiana said that her very powerful psychic friend predicted that she would make it to the Top 12.   God help us.  If I have to listen to her I may stop watching.  When she finally sang she really wasn’t too bad.  She sang Aretha Franklin’s I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You) .  Paula and Randy give her a yes while Kara says no.  But Simon sends her off to Hollywood.

By the time of the Asian crisis of 1997-98, he says, the Fed had become more responsive and pulled back from its tightening cycle on concern that the turmoil in Southeast Asia would affect the US economy.
'I also gave him a very outspoken gay friend, who chides him and says "come on Bond, you're living in the 20th century now not the Middle Ages".

Jiayi Yu, a 16 year old high school student, sang We Built This City from Starship and Simon properly described it by calling it “really, really boring.”  He also said that he hated what she was wearing and I must agree.  Jiayi, it’s also a NO.

Dean Anthony Bradford, a self proclaimed failed entrepreneur, is in one word an IDIOT.   He’s a joker who shows up to make a statement by wearing one very ugly jacket (described by Dean as the ‘Jacket of Life’).  He sang Stars by Simply Red.  Dean’s got a weird voice and acts even weirder while singing.  Randy calls his audition “wild and kind of tortured.”  Simon rips him a new one by questioning his terrible singing, weird hair color, and ugly jacket.  All four judges give him a NO.  Simon added at least he’s not going to be cold since he has that ugly coat (thought it was a jacket).

But perhaps we are finally there. Perhaps the curtain had to fall on the show before it could fall on that part of the ready-to-wear shows. Perhaps the history hamster wheel that we seem to be on — which has seen us cycle through the 1970s as well as some of the big hair and bigger shoulder pads of the 1980s (yes, we are there again) — will finally stop turning.
The piece was taken away for laboratory testing, and the Spielman family only received a phone call this month telling them the amulet had been identified.
Of course, the recovery of the job market has been, and probably will remain, incremental. Job growth needs to be much stronger to actually make a big dent in unemployment, which remains high at 7.9%, though down from 10% three years ago.[qh]
The Iranian dissident filmmaker, posing as a (barely competent) Tehran cabdriver, stages a sly, pseudo-documentary inquiry into the paradoxes of cinema and the contradictions of everyday life under authoritarian rule.
Oklahoma City GM Sam Presti, no stranger to deadline deals, pulled off a clean win bysending Cameron Payne, Joffrey Lauvergne and a second-round pick to Chicago in exchange for Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott.

Dalton Powell, an 18 year old unemployed guy, is a Rubik’s cube expert.  Ryan gave him a messed up Rubik’s cube and he solved it in about twenty seconds.  Dalton’s only problem is that he is a really horrific singer.  He sang Baby, Baby by Smokey Robinson.  He said he gets stage fright.  The question is does he watch the show?  So, Dalton’s high hopes are dashed as the judges said NO.

When the federal government shuttered in October, Starbucks (SBUX, Fortune 500)CEO Howard Schultz refused to sit on the sidelines while businesses everywhere suffered. Instead, Schultz wrote a petition calling on his peers to rally together and put pressure on Congress to come to an agreement.

Akilah Askew-Gholston, 26 year old aspiring songwriter, actually printed out a bunch of stuff from the Internet on how to sing gospel.  Did it work?  She not only came off as being pretty dumb but also very annoying.  She calls Randy “Simon.”  So, does she really know who Simon is?  She brought a few songs that she wrote in the past year.  She sang an original song called Let’s Make Sweet Love.  In one word it is Terrible.  She messes up and says that she “sang from the wrong rectum.”  Yummy!  This girl would not leave the audition until Kara finally escorted her out.

单词foundation 联想记忆:

Annie Murdoch, a 28 year old unemployed skinny blonde girl, wears a shirt with the San Francisco skyline on it.  When Simon asked what song she was going to sing she has no idea.  Hey, shouldn’t this have been determined before she came into the audition?  Finally she decides on Summertime and it is so over the top.   Simon said that she sang as if she was “drunk.”  It was like she “drank a crate of something not just one or two.”  Kara asked her to bring in a drink on her way out.  I could use a drink too after her performance.

Adam Lambert, a 26 year old stage actor from Hollywood, has been in the cast of Wicked for the last year and a half.  He sang Bohemian Rhapsody from Queen.  He was a little over-dramatic with his facial expressions but he’s got a good voice.  Adam is going to Hollywood.  Wait he lives there!

Kai Kalama, the final singer of the night, takes care of his mom during the day and is a singer by night.  Kai has had to change his life drastically since his mom, who suffers from a seizure disorder, got sick.  She’s proud of him and he is very happy to take care of her.   This is another Idol touching moment.  He sang Smoke Gets In Your Eyes.  Simon thought he had the personality of a “ship singer.”  They all agree he needs to work on his stage presence, but he’s through to Hollywood.

The proposed amendment, which is expected to come into force on Jan 1, contains a clause stipulating extended maternity leave and other welfare for couples having children. A lighthearted rom-com starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore is the last thing you'd expect to mirror real life, but this comedy was in fact partially based on a true story. Sandler plays a veterinarian who falls in love with Barrymore, an amnesiac whose memory resets at the beginning of each day. He learns that Barrymore has replayed the same day over and over again since a car crash left her with a traumatic brain injury. Upset by the lie she has been living, Sandler's character makes a series of videos that explain her accident and her life for her to watch each morning.

New year’s events can be anticlimactic. Not so in China where stock markets began 2016 with enough excitement to make traders choke on their bubbles: Shanghai stocks dropped 7 per cent on Monday, Shenzhen more than 8 per cent. It could have been worse. A new mechanism that suspends trading after a drop of 7 per cent halted play early — in this instance, by an hour and a half.
作为门户网站,雅虎将移动技术作为扭转厄运的重中之重。它将目光投向了英国少年尼克达洛伊西奥(Nick D'Aloisio)和Summly,后者能够为小屏幕设备自动生成新闻摘要。

Ashley Anderson, a 20 year old singer, claimed her golden ticket to Hollywood by receiving four “YES” votes from the judges.  She song Leona Lewis’ Footprints in the Sandwhich was co-written by Simon Cowell (Cowell said, “probably the best song he heard the entire audtions”).  Ashley’s only problem was she couldn’t remember if the word was either “footprints” or “footsteps.”  Hey, Ashley isn’t the correct word in the song title?

Now it’s time to meet the real “American Idol” bikini girl.  Her name is Casey Carlson not Katrina Darrell.  Katrina may have made  headlines after she showed up in the Phoenix auditions wearing an itsy-bitsy bikini but Kansas City contender Casey Carlson is the real deal.  Casey models in swimsuit calendars for Campus Girls USA.  Casey is also featured in a special edition “Girls of the Big 10” calendar, from which all proceeds are donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  She sang Vanessa Carlton’s A Thousand Miles in her audition and earned praise from all four judges.  I agree with Kara as I see a total package in Casey too.  She’s hot!

Brian Hettler, a 20 year old bearded art student, claims to apparently be a trained opera singer.  He said he stopped singing for two years, and now HE’S BACK!  He sang Aretha Franklin’s Think.  Let’s be honest, Brian it was horrible. Also, what was up with that outfit, dude?  He has lots of self confidence, but he’s sadly misguided.  Simon says “everything was wrong, seriously wrong.”  He hated everything about it.  Brian doesn’t get it, just wants to keep singing.  Randy asks, “can you hear what we hear?” He runs out of the audtion saying, “if you’re expecting me to cry on camera, don’t even try.”  Maybe he should have talked to the cryin’ rocker, Randy Madden, as we couldn’t get him to stop.

Consider this: Will the experience enhance your knowledge and play to your strengths? Will it introduce you to new concepts and new people? (All great reasons to say yes!) Will it require you to develop new techniques for managing your team or working with more experienced people? Embrace this challenge and get out of your comfort zone.

Billy Vinson, a 27 year old porky nurse, sang a Disney classic called Reflection.  He had a terrible voice and Simon summed it up with, “let’s just say goodbye.”

Mr Ravenscroft ended up leaving teaching to found Enabling Enterprise, a body that seeks to bridge the gulf between schools and business by taking pupils out of the classroom and giving them practical projects and visits to businesses, including UBS, the bank, and Freshfields, the law firm.

Deandre Hopkins, a 22 year old college student, sings Amazing Grace and it is was a total disaster.  Simon says, “we need to change the word ‘blind’ to ‘deaf’ and this audtion would have made sense.”

Vaughan Smith, a 22 year old singer, says he “tries things that other guys won’t.” Tell us what those things are big boy?  He sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow.  He started off terribly but later showed off some powerful pipes.  However, why is he singing so loud?  He blew out some hearing aids for sure.  A really bizarre audition but oddly he made it through to Hollywood.

Michael Castro, brother of Jason Castro from last season, is also bad at being interviewed.  Can you believe that Michael thinks Jason is more girly than him (Michael has pink hair)?  And, I don’t believe that Michael only started singing 20 days before the audition.  Holy Stool!  He sang In Love With A Gurlby Gavin DeGraw. His voice is a little rough but he’s pretty good.  Simon describes the performance as “goodish.”  Anyway, he gets four yeses, and he’s through to Hollywood.

Media reports from both countries, which have been involved in rising tensions over territories in the South China Sea, lay the blame on the their respective governments for illegal foods entering their markets.

Matt Breitzke, a bouncer-like looking dude with a shaved head and goatee, wanted to be a singer but had family responsibilities and needed to pay his bills.  He sang Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers.  He’s not overly spectacular but worthy of moving onto Hollywood.

Jasmine Joseph (Jazz), a 17 year old high school student, appears to be very weird.  She sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”  Her hair is even rainbow colored too.   She leaves without the judges even saying a word.  So, is it a NO?  Yes, it is a NO!

Jessica Page Furney, a 20 year old care giver from the city of Oz.  She lives with her 93-year-old grandma.  Her grandma is pretty much deaf.  Jessica also plays guitar.  She sang Crybaby by Janis Joplin.  She has a big voice.  Randy calls her a natural.  Simon likes her too.  As a matter of fact it’s four yes votes.  By the way, it’s her birthday.  Do you think she enjoyed her special day?

Back in the movie wasteland of last January, no one could have guessed what a bounty of good films the year would bring. Not just good films, but several that measure up to our idealized notions of what the medium once was. Two candidates for the top of the heap pretty much chose themselves. For sheer entertainment, the clear call is 'American Hustle,' David O. Russell's joyous celebration of 1970s-era con artists and their intricate cons. For innovation-a new theatrical experience born of new technology-'Gravity' whirls in its own orbit. With the understanding that there's nothing to be said against 'American Hustle,' and everything to recommend this screwball comedy for the ages, I think 'Gravity' is the best movie of the year.

Jamar Rogers, a bartender, sang California Dreamin.  He’s got a pretty good, pretty powerful voice but comes off as being very loudI really wanted him to be quiet as he was scaring my family pet.  The judges agree he was very loud but send him to Hollywood anyway.

Danny Gokey, a music teacher, has a very sad story.  Just four weeks before the audition his wife, who had a heart condition, died.  He sang I Heard it Through the Grapevineand he’s actually really good.  The judges all seemed to like his souful voice.  Randy calls it “one of the best he’s seen.”  Good for him and I am glad he got through to Hollywood.

Anoop Desai, a nerdy looking dude, sang Thank Youby Boyz II Men.  He’s actually really good.  The judges sure didn’t expect to hear a soulful voice from Anoop so they were pleasantly surprised.  He’s going to Hollywood.  Anoop Dawg is in ‘da house!

Two cheerleaders perform an extended routine to introduce the next contestant, Andrew Lang.   The intro ends with the overweight cheerleader doing the splits.  Yummy!  Andrew sang My Girl by the Temptations.  His performance was incredibly disjointed but his voice was pretty good.  Randy was actually going to give him a yes until he was granted a 10 second second chance.  After that all four judges changed their minds.  When he left without a golden ticket the cheerleaders began crying while Andrew remained calm.  Easy come, easy go.

Asa Barnes, a middle school band director, has a 4 year old daughter.  He sang The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson.   He has a good voice and has lots of potential.  He’s on his way to Hollywood.

"We hope the mother will come to us and verify the facts. If it's true that the user is a 13-year-old who spent the money without consent, we can negotiate a refund," the Tencent employee said.

The report also shows that despite the rising pension insurance balance since 2012, the payable number of months fell to 17.7 months last year from 19.7 months in 2012.

Denis Bringham, a crazy hyper black guy, wants this American Idol fame “so bad, y’all.”  He sang Chris Brown’s With You.  He wasn’t very (5 very’s) good but keeps on singing even after the judges tell him to stop.  Denis got lucky and is heading to Hollywood to live out a dream (hopefully it doesn’t involve Simon again).

Mia Conley, who fell asleep in the waiting room, follows Denis.  She sang Loving You by Minnie Riperton.  Honestly, Mia should have remained asleep.  She was really bad.  She got mad at the judges and says, “you judges are wrong and God’s going to get you.”  Anyway Mia it’s still a NO.

Lil Rounds, the last contestant of episode 2, is a 23 year old mother of three.  She has a sad story.  A tornado touched down in Memphis and made the family of five vacate their apartment.  She sings All I Do by Stevie Wonder.  The judges are big fans and she moves onto Hollywood.  Good luck!

Since the establishment of Avic 1 and Avic 2 in 1999, which really marked the beginning of China’s push into the commercial aerospace market, there has been no doubt about China’s intent and the direction it wants its industry to take. Almost 20 years on, things have become much more clear, and there is now little doubt that China is well on its way to succeeding where several other countries have failed in becoming a full-fledged player in the large commercial aircraft manufacturing sector, with the potential to disrupt the long-standing duopoly of Airbus and Boeing.

Joaquin Phoenix is the poignantly lonely guy who falls in love with his smartphone's new operating system.
