Experts view China-U.S. ties back onto track of cooperation in common interests for all

China suspends HK extradition, judicial assistance treaties with New Zealand

Everyone can see easily and clearly that the U.S. goal is to keep its monopoly in science and technology and deny other countries the legitimate right to development, Wang said.

The supplies, including two monitoring ambulances, four ventilators and 200 infrared frontal thermometers, were donated by Kunming to the Laotian capital Vientiane and the province of Luang Prabang, with a view to assisting in the battle against COVID-19.

The supplies are due to arrive in Laos by the end of August.

A donation ceremony is held in Kunming of southwest China's Yunnan Province, Aug. 7, 2020. A batch of anti-pandemic medical supplies departed from Kunming on Friday morning, heading for Laos. Noting that the situation in border areas is inseparable from bilateral relations, Jaishankar said it is not easy to achieve a balance with China, and India must stick to its position. The key is to make China pay more attention to India, he added.

Thirdly, Washington should join Beijing in reactivating communication at all levels and in all-important sectors such as economy and trade and security, as well as cultural and people-to-people exchanges, so as to avoid any high-risk strategic misjudgement.

"The United States doesn't even bother to disguise its bullying," he said, adding that it not only violates the international rules of fair trade, but also hurts the free global market environment.

"Very often we hear complaints here that we don't give a level playing field to American companies. But more and more, I believe we should complain Chinese companies are not having a level playing field here," he said.

While the two countries are quite different in social system and many other aspects, such differences have not affected bilateral peaceful coexistence and cooperation, said Wang.

BEIJING, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Instigation for confrontation and division was not rare in history, but was all rebuked by the people, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in an exclusive interview with Xinhua on Wednesday.
